spirit blue have only two ever published songs. An EP titled ps/dm (a shorthand of the song titles). While the songs are tremendously varied in style, both overlap in their ethereal tone. The songs deeply explore themes of surreal sound blended with a more mellow bass to create a genre-bending experience that feels either plucked out of a basement in Santa Fe, or a sound that would bend the airwaves in Seattle thirty years ago. I strongly encourage taking time to listen to both Desire Machine and Perfect Storm, as both of these songs explore different extremes of surreal pop. The eerie sinks absently beyond the sullen bass and in Desire Machine, while the joyous guitar loop of Perfect Storm is muted by a numbing drum loop.
